Putting Contest
Once again this year our participants will have a little something to shoot for
on the practice green. The Alabama Oilmen will be giving away a Great
Prize to the 3 winners of the putting contest. Entry into
this special event is included in your tournament entry fees so don’t
forget to take your chance at this fantastic prize. The contest will be held
on Saturday from 9:30 am til 4:30 pm with a putt off in case of a tie on Sunday at 12:30 pm.
Friday Night Cookout
This year’s Cookout will be outstanding as usual,
it will be held on the Magnolia Grove Clubhouse Veranda.
This gathering will allow our players a chance
to socialize with one another and “talk some trash” before tournament
play begins.
Massages
By popular demand, once again the Alabama Oilmen are please to offer stress
relieving massages which are free of charge to our sponsors
and guests. Depending on the schedule of the massage therapy department at
Fortis College, we expect at least ten massage tables and massage
therapists on hand Saturday and Sunday from noon till 4:00 pm. They will be
located under the Clubhouse Veranda or a tent near the clubhouse and we urge
you to take advantage of this relaxing service. Because of the number of golfers
who will surely take advantage of this new service, we have asked that the
massage therapists limit the massages to a maximum of 15 minutes. Tipping
is discouraged as these masseuses are students at Fortis College.
Cook-Out / Door Prizes
The Annual Cook-Out, generously sponsored again by Industrial
Valve, will be held concurrent with the main door
prize give out on Saturday night under the big tent behind the
clubhouse. Once again music great food and Draft Beer will be provided.
As always, the delicious food provided will be the topic
of conversation on Sunday morning. A cash bar will also be available for this
event. The music will start at 6:00 pm along with the start
of the cook-out. The actual door prize drawing will begin at approximately
8:00 PM. Traditionally, the Alabama Oilmen’s Invitational Golf Tournament
is famous for the unbelievable amount of door prizes given away.
As always expect the quantities and value of the door prizes
to be greater this year than in years past. Remember, you must be
present to win a Door prize.
Food / Beverages
A complimentary breakfast buffet will be available each morning
in the Club House Grill and will be served at approximately 6:00 am. And of
course, one of the most talked about benefits of our tournament is the numerous
cook tents which will be scattered throughout the course
(approximately one every three holes). Also, on-course concessions
will be provided on both championship courses all weekend.
Hole Prizes
Hole prizes for longest drive, longest putt etc. will be
on many of the holes and we anticipate
some major hole-in one prizes on select par-threes.
Charitable Contribution
As has been the case in year’s past, the Alabama Oilmen’s Invitational
will donate a portion of our tournament proceeds to a worthy charity. This
year we’ve selected Magic Moments to be the benefactor. Your participation in our tournament is very much
appreciated by this charity.
